An Update on Jonathan Mooney and The Short Bus
Last week, To the Best of Our Knowledge, a Wisconsin Public Radio program, featured a segment with author, speaker and disability advocate Jonathan Mooney. Mooney grew up "learning disabled" but graduated from Brown University and is the author of "The Short Bus: A Journey Beyond Normal." He tells Jim Fleming that "normal" is a social construct, not a medical one and society should learn to embrace diversity. There are many valid ways to be in the world.
You can listen to the show with RealPlayer by clicking this link. DisabilityNation 37 featured an interview with Mooney as well. Mooney gives frequent talks across the country where he speaks about both of his books and his life experiences.
