New York State AG orders Payout in ADA Case

I can already hear Rush Limbaugh foaming at the mouth about this one. He'd probably call it another in a series of liberal-spawned "frivolous lawsuits", given that the defendant is a tourist hotel and host to baseball camps. Critics of the ADA rarely think our amusement is worth getting worked up about, especially when the State of New York orders a business to pay it back $20,000 for its access-violation investigation.

To our critics, we are seldom more than a noise to be silenced.

At one level, I could almost not blame the managers of a sports camp for failing to acknowledge those of us with physical imperfections, given that sports is about a certain level of physical perfection that even able-bodied people don't reach.

A victory like this is important because other Americans have fun and go to sports camps, or even strip clubs. Every place we get into affirms our right to life like other Americans, so I salute this whether I ever go near the place or not, or whether I ever learn much more about America's pastime than the scraps I know by virtue of my enormous crush on Keith Olbermann.

The ADA means Going Boldly Where Everyone Else Has Gone Before.

Congratulations to our brothers and sisters at Catskill Center For Independence on this important victory.
